Suarez and Neymar scored again to lead Barcelona to a 2-1 victory at Las Palmas in the Canary Islands.
Suarez struck six minutes into the match, and Neymar re-established the visitors' advantage before halftime by finishing off a rebound of a shot by Lionel Messi after Las Palmas striker Willian Jose had made it 1-1.
Barcelona increased the gap to nine points before second-place Atletico Madrid hosts fourth-place Villarreal on Sunday.
But to win their eighth Liga match in a row, Barcelona needed Las Palmas to miss two clear chances when a late push by the club in danger of falling back into the second division came up empty.
''In order to win titles, you have to pull out games like these,'' Suarez said.
Elsewhere, Celta Vigo edged Eibar 3-2 to leapfrog the Basque club into sixth place.
Espanyol ended an eight-round winless streak by beating Deportivo La Coruna 1-0, and Sporting Gijon drew 1-1 at Real Betis.

With only 13 rounds remaining in La Liga, Barcelona does not project to drop 10 points for the remainder of the season, let alone drop 10 points relative to its Madrid-based rivals. As a reminder, Barcelona has only suffered two defeats over the first 25 rounds of the domestic league, and Lionel Messi, Luis Surarez, Neymar and company have only dropped 12 total points over the first 25 rounds of the season. And that was with the club on a transfer ban and without Messi for an extended time due to injury.
"There are 39 points still to play for," Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane said following his team’s 1-1 draw on Sunday. "You think the league is lost, but the players and myself don't believe that."
The fact that Zidane came out and stated publicly that the league had not yet been decided served to underscore that, in fact, the league is over. Why else would a manager have to come out and remind the media that anything is possible in football? It’s over. La Liga is over. Again, congrats to Barcelona because the group earned results in the face of injuries, with a jam-packed schedule and with a razor-thin squad.

On Saturday, Barcelona again displayed that resolve when the club struggled and showed fatigue in a hard-fought 2-1 victory away to Las Palmas. Barcelona did not perform to its full capabilities, but Luis Enrique’s men returned home with three points yet again. With the victory, the Catalans extended their unbeaten streak to 32 matches across all competitions, with the last defeat coming way back on Oct. 3 away to Sevilla. Approaching five months unbeaten, this team is not due to collapse and give up its massive lead to a team that struggles to score consistently or to a team that is adjusting to a new manager.
